Biografia

GIOVANNA MARTINELLI

Giovanna Martinelli was born in Rome in 1957, she got a diploma in 1975 and in 1976, with the Cooperativa Murales, founds the jazz club of the same name in Trastevere. Since 1978 she is responsible for publishing and graphic arts printing. In 1986/87 she attends S.W. Hayter Atelier 17 in Paris where she perfects the technique of chalcographic printing in colour. Between 1990 and 1993 she teaches art printing at the 1st State Institute of Art in Rome. In 2005 she teaches engraving in Venice and Pècs and in 2008 at the Urbino KAUS.
She is a member of the Association Painting in Progress with painters of different North-European nationalities and, since 2005, of the Association of Hungarian sculptors “La Fonderia” located in Pècs.
She lives and works in Rome.
